TCM Ireland - Homepage
"TCM Ireland" was created by Siobhan Seville and Sandro Graca with the aim to provide practical and easy understanding information about acupuncture, tuina massage, medical qigong and all the other different aspects of the fascinating medical system that is Chinese Medicine.
Our aim is to provide a professional and affordable medical service to the people visiting our clinics and also generate awareness of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Ireland.
Traditional Chinese Medicine, commonly referred to as "Chinese Medicine" or simply "TCM", is one of the oldest forms of medical treatment and one of the most commonly used in the world.
Its origins date back over thousands of years and it has stood the test of time remaining the main form of medicine used in China today. Nowadays, it has reached all corners of the world and has been widely used with more and more people availing of its benefits.
In Ireland, TCM has been steadily growing in popularity and it is now one of the safest and fastest growing medical therapies in the country.
We introduced Chinese Medicine in the Irish health care system back in 2007, when we started to work in the Primacare clinics.
It has been a huge success and these days we work side-by-side with other health professionals, with constant referrals and complete integration in the medical system, including the fertility clinics.
TCM is a complete medical system and therefore made up of many different types of therapies - the most commonly know of which is acupuncture.
Less known, but also very important within the context of TCM as a whole medical system are:
moxibustion (heat treatment with a slow burning herb, mugwort), tuina massage, cupping, herbal medicine, medical exercise (Qi Gong, Tai Chi), medical qigong, dietary therapy, lifestyle advice.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the recognised Complementary and Alternative Medicines (CAM) by the World Health Organization (WHO).
